AMX Global Recalls Portable Stadium Chairs Due To Fall Hazard

StadiumChair

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission recently announced the recall of AMX Global portable stadium chairs due to a potential fall hazard. According to the recall, the recalled stadium chairs have bleacher security hooks that can crack and break, posing fall and injury hazards to consumers. Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled stadium chairs. Consumers are directed to destroy the recalled seat by cutting through the fabric of the seat and the backrest. Consumers are further directed to take a photo of the destroyed recalled seat including the consumer’s initials and date in the photo and send the photo to AMX Global at support@stadiumseatrecall.com to receive a full refund.

Product liability and defective folding chairs

All companies are responsible for manufacturing safe products. When they fail in that regard and somebody is injured as a result of that failure, the company can be sued. Such lawsuits are known as product liability lawsuits and they are filed under one of three theories:

  1.  the product is intrinsically defective
  2.  the product has a manufacturing defect that rendered it dangerous
  3.  the company that manufactured the product failed to warn consumers about a known danger

So when you apply the legal metric of product liability to the folding chair cases one would argue that the AMX Global folding chair is intrinsically defective. This defect can result in the chair collapsing with somebody on it, causing them substantial injury. If someone is injured by a defective folding chair, they can file a product liability lawsuit against the company that manufactured the defective chair. In addition to filing a lawsuit against the company that manufactured the chair, you can also file suit against the retailer who made the chair available to the public.

Ultimately, you would need a successful trial attorney to file a lawsuit against a powerful corporation. The corporation will likely defend the claim by blaming the victim. In other words, the victim didn’t exercise ordinary care when attempting to use the chair causing it to break and injure themselves. In a case like the above mentioned, it helps when the CPSC has issued a recall and identified a flaw in the chair that could cause injury. This is valuable information that could bolster your case if you were to be injured by a defective chair.

Defective chair lawsuits

Defective chairs aren’t as unusual as you may think, and the injuries sustained from defective chairs can be quite serious. If you’ve been injured while sitting in a defective chair, you should share your story with a seasoned trial attorney who could file a claim against the manufacturer of the chair.
